To the press and public;
We have been informed about the details of the meeting between the leader of the people, Mr Abdullah Ocalan, and the DEM party on 28 December through the statement that was issued.
We greet with love and respect the will that, despite being imprisoned for 26 years in conditions of severe and absolute isolation, has not deviated for a moment from the ideal of a democratic solution and freedom for the peoples of Turkey and the Middle East, and has continued to say “We will be liberated together”.
As the Free Women’s Movement, we know that the Peoples’ Leader Abdullah Ocalan is the only person/mechanism with the power to solve the problems of all peoples, especially women, youth, children and groups of faith, who are under pressure from the wars, massacres and genocides of the male-dominated nation-states, and that he is the only person who can lead them out of this predicament, which, at the stage it has reached, promises nothing but chaos, crisis and destruction. From Turkey to Palestine, from Afghanistan to Iran, from Syria to Rojava, the way to a dignified peace against war can be opened through democratic politics, as he has pointed out.
We are convinced that the solution to wars can be achieved through the common struggle and alliances that the forces of democracy will build with hope and courage. The mentality that claims an either/or situation of death or capitulation has gone bankrupt in the Middle East. The solution will be possible on the 3rd way, that guarantees the freedom and equality of women and peoples, based on democratic politics. The socialist, revolutionary, democratic, feminist and anti-capitalist social movements and individuals in Turkey as well as our international alliances are undoubtedly the ones who will build and protect this ground.
The truth is that it is our struggle for freedom, the collective self-strength of the women and peoples they seek to entrap in the vicious circles of war, that will lead us out of these wars in which women are most devastated. Our struggle as TJA, which maintains that breaking the isolation imposed on the society depends on breaking the isolation on the leader of the people’s, Mr Abdullah Öcalan, is a part of this truth . The meeting in İmralı has once again brought out the strength of the hope and the will for a democratic solution. Undoubtedly, the freedom resistance of the women and peoples fighting for the end of isolation has been fueled by this hope and will continue to fight to put an end to absolute isolation. We know that for the stabilization and maturing of this step into a transparent, reliable, dignified, lasting peace and democratic solution based on social values will also come be achieved through resistance.
We will continue to insist on our demand for a dignified peace and democratic solution with an attitude that is consistent with our vanguard role. We call on all women and the democratic public opinion, wherever they are, to join us in this road to our liberation together.
